Breast Cancer Screening at Age 40 Saves Lives

Recent data suggests the US task force my have been cavalier in their recommendations for breast cancer screening. A new study suggests that screening starting at age 40 clearly saves lives. I believe that as our understanding of genetics improves our ability to target who needs early screening will improve as well. I believe that every patient needs to have a discussion with their physician so they can make an informed decision, but my tendency is to lean towards early screening.
